Week 57 Letter from Sorella Hills

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Ellie.... happy birthday to you!!!!!! And many mooooooorrrrrrreeee 😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙😙,Sending ya 15 kisses for your birthday...that's all I've got money for! 

This week was so cool! We had a lesson with this cool part member family, called the Blaz family.  They are so cool! The investigators are the 2 sons aged 12 and 11.  They are incredible, and ask so many good questions.  It was a really cool lesson. Did I mention it was cool?

Also this week, the Anziani had a baptism! His name is Gary, and he is the husband of a member.  Ok, I love the story, so I'll tell it! He is from Portorico, were he was baptized at age 11. He was a strong member, but started to fall a way when he moved to Rome.  During the move, the records were lost, and he became offended, because the true church wouldn't forget about people.  So, he stopped going.  He then met his wife, who became an investigator of the Anziani about 5 years ago.  She was baptized and found out about her husband.  She began trying to bring him to church, but he said he will come when he is ready.  Well, he came for the primary program to surprise his son, and has come ever since. The Anziani started teaching him, and he was re-baptized on Friday! It was so amazing! He was so happy and so was his family.  I love seeing baptisms that unite the family.  It's amazing when anyone gets baptized, but when a family come together instead of just one, it's really special. I saw what a difference it made for the wife to have her husband united with her. Families are so important! My testimony of that was strengthened this week, for sure! 

I've stopped biting my nails, and my companion bought this nail strengthening sort of nail polish treatment... we are trying hat out, we'll let you know how that goes! Haha.

Transfers are next week, so I will probably get a new companion... who will it be?!? Stay tuned 😝

Week 56 Letter from Sorella Hills

Hi fam!

No time, but here are some miracles!

One- We had a lesson with some past investigators who had never answered our calls...and she called us! So, we are teaching her sons, because she is a less active with 2 nonmember sons.  It was a great lesson and the kids are awesome :)

Two- we got some refusals.

Three- I dyed my hair! 

Four- I did soldi shopping, and got some nice stuff :)

Week 55 Letter from Sorella Hills

Hello family,

Wait, so are the elders or the sisters teaching Allannah? Because that's a lot of missionaries!! Cool you all went to the Joseph Smith Memorial!

What's with this tractor? Like... Tractor. Car. I'd choose the car! 

ISABEL!!!! NON DIRE SPOILERS!!!!!! QUANTO SEI SCEMA!!!!  

Ok. The week was. The same as last week, unfortunately :/ Yeah, if your companion is sick, you don't have much to do but clean, read the ensign, and cook food that's not good for you! But, I've found that the new eras from the 70 and 80's had fiction articles :) So, that's been fun! But yeah. So. 

We did get out of the house a bit though.  We tried to go to a city called Aprilia. It was really far away, and by the time we got there, it was dark. And it was really cold...and the people that we wanted to see were about 2 miles away walking...along a highway.  So.  We had to turn around... it was a bit of a waste, but at least we got out, and we now know what it looks like! We are going to ask a member next time for a ride! 

We did have a cool lesson this week. The Sorella from Roma 2 passed us a girl who just moved to our area.  She's from England, and is an actress.  It was a lot of drama.  But, she has read the BOM, and knows it's true.  So, we'll see...

Week 54 Letter from Sorella Hills

Hi, everyone!

YOU NEVER TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT ANYONE!!!!!!! LIKE WHAT ABOUT THE DICKSONS GOING TO THE PHILIPPINES?!? 

Question and answer time:

1.  Did you report your wallet to the police?  Please say you did.  Also, did you already go back to the last place you spent money with your card on that day? 

I have reported it, and gone back as soon as I noticed it was missing to the last place.  Then we searched the street, and the stores to ask if anyone had seen it.  It was a very concentrated area to look, because I noticed it was gone really quickly, so there were not many places to look.  But yeah, it's been reported.

2.  Were you transferred, if so where?   If not, when are transfers?

 I'm still in Ostia, and will be here until the second week of February :)

3.  Are you still on the upswing of feeling better? 

Yeah, sort of.  Yes.  But it's been hard, since my companion has been sick for a couple of weeks, and we've been stuck in the house.

4.  Did you get your new card yet

Not yet... neither the mission card or my personal card :( #poorperson

5.  Do you know how wonderful you are?

How does one answer this question?

6.  Do you know how much we love you?  

Again...

Week 53 Letter from Sorella Hills

Caio tutti! 

I didn't know the Whitneys were pregnant... boy or girl?! 

Ok.  So, this week was a LOT! First, we had a crazy P.day.  We wanted to do something with the Anziani, because they were both going home that Tuesday, and we had all become close friends.  Then, the mission president's wife called.  She said "Just to know...It's like inappropriate to come into Rome and say goodbye to missionaries" 😳 so... We decided to not to. 

Then, the mission office called again!  It was Sorella Condé.... she needed the 20 euro that I owed her for printing pictures.  She was leaving the mission, ecco perché stava a Roma . So.  We go to Rome!

It all worked out, I got to pay back Sorella Condé, said goodbye to the Anziani, got their keys and phone, made it home, delivered a Christmas present to someone, and then we crashed for the day.  Poor Sorella Moro has migraines if she gets wicked stressed. So. We were in the apartment for most of he rest of the week.  

But we got 2 new Anziani! One is a familiar face, my brother in the mission Anziano Perfilli! We were "born" together in Ragusa :) Now, he is training, Anziano Misa, who is Australian/ Samoan.  It's been a blast! 

I've been doing much better, so I'm excited to see what this transfer brings :)

Week 52 Letter from Sorella Hills

Yoyoyo,

This week, we cut our hair, had zone conference, a scambio, a ward party, and went ice skating! It was a lot :) But Christmas has a way of distracting us from the real world.  For just a month of so, there is real magic.  

People are looking outwards, it's so nice :) 

Christmas Skype!  So.  We have a lunch appointment Christmas Day... so we will not be in a place with wifi. What time does church end? Maybe I can do after church? Idk... or maybe I might be able to get to wifi for 10 your time...

I got Dads email and I loved it :)

I got your Christmas package-the iPod, and the CD :) I love the music, I listen to it all the time! Sooo much Charlie Brown :)

We are doing a secret Santa with our zone and I'm trying to get a present for my companion without her knowing...

So! MERRY CHRISTMAS CHARLIE BROWN!!! Can you believe that it's been a year since I left home? I can't! 6 months left :)
